Sean Collins, CEO and co-founder, Thames Clippers:

“We welcome the diligent decision by the Mayor of London and Transport for London (TfL) to shelve the plan to build a bridge between Rotherhithe and Canary Wharf.

“As has been previously referenced, Thames Clippers has been working in partnership with Beckett Rankine and Aus Yachts on a proposed electric, fully accessible ferry cross-river solution which can be delivered at a relatively minimal cost, and much faster than a bridge. This affordable solution would build on the existing RB4 service we run at this location and could also be replicated at other locations further east where the need for a cross-river solution has also been identified.

“We very much hope that our vision can support the Mayor and TfL in delivering what is needed.”
